Artist’s Manifesto.

The "Nature" series explores the beauty of nature and reverence of God's creation is the motivation behind the nature series. Many of the paintings were made during field trips to ancient areas of North Kent where I lived for 43 years. I travelled to the woodlands and fields observing the seasons and changing light, painting in the woodlands between Medway and Maidstone where I felt most connected to the land, the history and rich mythology of the Kentish countryside. The paintings are influenced by these factors, by the atmosphere of the environment, by its heritage. The intention has always been to depict the spirit of nature rather than the physical reality.
