Artist’s Manifesto.

The Krays attained a notoriety and celebrity status which cemented them within the iconic culture of the 1960's. The gangster twins were immortalised in photographs by David Bailey and their criminal activities ensured a level of notoriety which placed them at the top of the London underworld. My father was an associate of the Krays and told me many stories of his experiences which formed the inspiration for the paintings. The paintings explore those stories along with the violence, two famous murders and the gangster culture of the 1960's which has now attained an almost mythological status.
